A shocking announcement has been made by the principal of Chiddix Junior High School, leaving the school community in a state of flux. Principal Mariana Nicasio has decided to depart at the end of the academic year, amidst a period of unrest and uncertainty.

"This choice was not taken lightly," she emphasized. "It reflects my desires for this stage of my life."
Unit 5 Superintendent Kristen Weikle acknowledged Nicasio's decision, describing it as a "personal choice." Weikle expressed gratitude for Nicasio's leadership and acknowledged that she will be deeply missed by the Chiddix community. Nicasio is committed to remaining with Unit 5 until June 30 and will assist in the transition to a new principal.
