Angela Gossow Quashes Arch Enemy Reunion Rumors: 'I'm Excited for the New Chapter' (2026)

Bold truth: rumors about Angela Gossow rejoining ARCH ENEMY are not true, and she’s setting the record straight while hinting at a new chapter in her role as manager.

Angela Gossow has dismissed speculation that she has re-entered ARCH ENEMY following Alissa White-Gluz’s departure. The chatter began after ARCH ENEMY and Gossow posted teaser videos showing a figure holding a torch and the cryptic caption “2026,” with both of their social feeds since wiped clean of other details.

In a second teaser released today, Angela—who has managed ARCH ENEMY for over a decade—took to her social channels to clarify: “It’s not ME! But thank you for all the love! I am really excited to be involved in this new chapter as the manager. This is gonna CRUSH!”

Gossow’s 13-year tenure as ARCH ENEMY’s vocalist ended in 2014 with her surprising retirement from performing. Although she no longer sings with the band, she remains deeply involved in a business capacity as their manager.

In a 2016 interview with Roppongi Rocks, Gossow explained why she moved into artist management in 2008: she believed managers often took a large cut of earnings while the artists retained little control. She described changing the model by taking a smaller commission and ensuring the artists earned more in the end. She also emphasized proactive financial planning—booking flights early, securing visas and passports, and avoiding unnecessary costs—to preserve cash flow and reduce risk for touring bands.

Regarding how shifts in revenue streams for indie and non-mainstream musicians affect her approach, Gossow stressed the importance of budgeting, transparency in label and publishing statements, and ensuring all show payments are properly accounted for. She warned that cancelations or high travel costs can be devastating, underscoring that a manager must anticipate needs, secure advances, hire reliable crew, and plan well in advance so tours remain viable.

On her decision to step away from performing, Gossow said there’s a time and place for everything: after starting in 1991, she found the road life began to drain the joy from what she loved, so she chose to step back rather than continue without passion.

Gossow also praised Alissa White-Gluz, noting she first encountered White-Gluz when she attended an ARCH ENEMY show in Montreal and was inspired by her vocal performance. Gossow explained that she considered many factors before choosing to invite White-Gluz to take over, highlighting the demanding reality of professional touring and the discipline, health, and talent required to succeed at a high level.

ARCH ENEMY’s album history includes Johan Liiva-era records—Black Earth (1996), Stigmata (1998), and Burning Bridges (1999)—before Liiva was replaced by Gossow. Gossow contributed to ARCH ENEMY’s catalog from Wages of Sin (2001) through Khaos Legions (2011). With White-Gluz, the band released War Eternal (2014), Will To Power (2017), Deceiver s (2022), and Blood Dynasty (2025).

If you’ve got thoughts on whether a former vocalist transitioning to management could influence a band’s direction in the modern metal landscape, share your take in the comments. Do you think Angela’s involvement as manager could shape ARCH ENEMY’s next era, or should the focus stay on fresh leadership from the current lineup? Your perspective matters."
